Pipe board fitted in place
Stoppers have to be fitted with small knobs; a plinth and side panels also have to be fitted. I've played the organ using the short test roll supplied and I'm very pleased with the results. However, having overcome the euphoria of success I now found I was not completely satisfied with the tone of the two highest pitches, (C and D). They were a little too loud and somewhat strident, particularly noticeable where these occur often and are sustained. Also, the low C was a little too quiet. These faults were corrected by adjusting the mouth openings in the case of the two small pipes. Obviously this involved removing the top lips and fitting new ones.  In the case of the larger C pipe a new, tighter-fitting stopper was the cure. See Thoughts and Observations on home page.
I have also cut out two short tunes using a scalpel on printouts from Piet Paardekam's program. This process is very tedious and time consuming, so a punching machine of some kind is essential. See home page.
