One bellows unit under construction.

The strips of wood clamped with rubber bands are to keep the cloth pressed to the sides of of the boards while the glue is setting, likewise the clamps at the far end.  At the near end a piece of wood was held in place with a very heavy object.  When the glue had set the excess cloth was trimmed away with a craft knife.
